I am so excited to share my friend Kristina's new shop, Studio 1241, with you!
Kristina is the artist behind Studio1241, and her husband Ryan is in charge of wood working. They make a fabulous husband/wife team, with Ryan cutting everything to size and assembling salvaged wood into a smooth surface, and Kristina bringing her artistic visions to life on the organic canvas he's created from the reclaimed wood.
I love that the art on every one of Studio 1241's pieces created freehand. Kristina doesn't use stencils, projectors or vinyl - all of the reclaimed wood canvases are painted free hand. And what's more than that, Kristina mixes batches of paint specifically for each project, so even recreations of a design will have their own unique color palette created just for that piece. Kristina is also happily diving into custom orders - taking customer's ideas, drawing up sketches, then bringing the design to life in her studio.
I am super excited that Kristina is adding art prints to the shop this winter because she is taking a unique approach to creating replicated prints of original art by using recycled cardstock and earth friendly inks through a local print shop. She also uses the same eco-friendly approach for Studio 1241's business cards and authenticity labels for the back of the wall decor.
Studio1241 is already an wonderfully eco-aware business, using reclaimed wood and eco-friendly branding supplies. Kristina says her goal is to be 100% eco-friendly (all the way down to eco-friendly acryllic paints and brushes) before they celebrate Studio 1241's first anniversary. I adore green businesses and am so excited to celebrate with Kristina this week, celebrate the launching of her ecofriendly handmade brand that is making a difference in the world by reducing landfill waste & creating beautiful art.
Keep up with Studio 1241
